    About

When was the last time you were able to take advantage of intentional space created for you to simply sit and spend time with Jesus? We all need and even crave time with our Savior. Take a moment to catch your breath and return to the feet of Jesus to be restored, renewed and refreshed. Things are seldom experienced in today's hurry-up world. Our hope is that by then end of retreat 2019 you will have experienced renewal, restoration, and refreshment through Jesus Christ.

As we retreat together we will be reminded of our first and greatest love by spending time worshiping Him and studying His Word. Guiding us on our journey are five incredibly gifted women who will call us to a deeper relationship with the Lord as we seek Him:
Jael Boeschling (Community Covenant, Omaha), Malinda Just (Writer & Speaker, Hillsboro KS), Lexi Lang (Community Covenant, Lenexa), Cheryl Meakins (Spiritual Director & Speaker, Arvada CO), and Patty Thompson (Midwest Conference, Salina KS).

Renew - Restore - Refresh

Jael Boeschling
Clay Center, KS

Jael Boeschling is a full-time chaos coordinator to four young children.  In her limited free time, she enjoys serving alongside her husband, a pastor, as they proclaim and imperfectly live out the Gospel.  Jael is a One on the Enneagram, loves dark chocolate, and is passionate about authentic community, especially if a cup of coffee is involved.

Malinda Just
Hillsboro, KS

Malinda Just is a writer and the voice behind Lipstick & Pearls, a monthly opinion column at the Hillsboro Free Press. Malinda's writing can also be found at her little slice of the web: www.malindajust.com. A Kansas-girl through and through, she is a graduate of Tabor College with a B.A. in communications-journalism. Married 15 years to her college sweetheart, Brad, together they have three precious gifts: Gracelyn, 11, Jemma, 9, and Case, 7. Malinda is driven by her hunger and thirst for God's Word, and desires to encourage others to let their roots grow down around Christ and build their lives on Him.

Lexi Lang
Lenexa, KS

Always open to the next adventure, Lexi tries to live life inspired by the mantra of "Love God, Love People, Do Stuff" and her favorite verse, Micah 6:8, "Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly before God."  These days, you are most likely to catch her chasing her three kids (Aiden, Felicity and Annora), hanging out with students as director of Student Ministries at COMMUNITY Covenant Church in Lenexa, KS., co-leading The Loving Kind (our young adult ministry) or planning her next mission trip (probably to Haiti, where God has called her to dive deeper into missions). In Lexi's spare time, she is a freelance writer and a Children's Ministry consultant.

Cheryl Meakins
Arvada, CO

Cheryl is a Spiritual Director and Executive Director of Living Aspen; a nonprofit in Arvada helping people heal from abuse, while also pursuing a Masters of Divinity at North Park Theological Seminary.  Cheryl's passions include helping others hear the voice of God in their lives.  She is a writer, preacher, program developer, occupational therapist, a mom of three teens and a wife to Mark.   Thriving in her faith happens the most when she connects with God through contemplating and enjoying art, creating, and gardening.  She loves to laugh and cry with equal depth.
